Ride-hailing service inDrive has won the Philippines Technology Excellence Award for Artificial Intelligence in Transportation at the 2025 Asian Technology Excellence Awards held on September 18 in Bangkok, Thailand,
inDrive received the recognition for its innovative use of AI to improve the commuting experience for Filipinos.
The company was recognized for its human-centered approach to AI, which focuses on creating fairer and more transparent transportation solutions rather than replacing human decision-making.
“This recognition inspires us to use AI to amplify user autonomy, ensure fairness, and create safer experiences for both our passengers and partner drivers,” said Mark Tolley, inDrive APAC director.
“We see AI as a tool to restore trust, strengthen communities and make everyday journeys more humane. The Philippines is proof that technology, when guided by fairness, can transform mobility for millions,” he said.
How inDrive’s AI helps Filipino commuters:
• Fairer Pricing: Unlike other apps that set fixed prices, inDrive uses AI for better matching while letting passengers and drivers agree on fares
• Better Communication: Built-in AI translation helps break language barriers between passengers and drivers across different Philippine dialects
• Improved Safety: AI systems scan messages and photos to detect inappropriate behavior and verify vehicle safety
• Accurate Predictions: The app provides more reliable arrival times and route suggestions in congested cities like Manila and Cebu
The company also recently became the preferred ride-hailing partner of Echelon Philippines 2025, signaling its growing presence in the country’s transportation sector.
inDrive is also planning to expand its services in the Philippines to include courier delivery and online grocery services in the future. — iNewsPH.com
