The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has established a new unit called the Joint Sustainment Command to better coordinate support services for military operations nationwide.
AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr. led the activation of AFP Joint Sustainment Command (AFPJSC) in a formal ceremony on September 22 at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
The new command will be headed by Lieutenant General Rey Alemania and will centralize logistics, medical, and personnel support under one system.
“This unification will make our support services more efficient and effective in serving our country,” Gen. Brawner said during the ceremony.
The move is part of the AFP’s ongoing modernization program aimed at improving the military’s readiness and operational capabilities by streamlining its support systems. — iNewsPH.com
